Maunalua has been a formidable force in the Hawaiian music scene since 2000 garnering multiple Na Hoku Hanohano awards including “Hawaiian Album of the Year” and “Group of the Year” for its past three records including its self-titled freshman album. Having humbly begun its journey by performing at Hawaii’s renowned Roy’s Restaurant on Oahu’s east side of Hawaii Kai, the group’s popularity has since taken them throughout the islands and to the mainland U.S. including a recent trip to Washington D.C. to perform at the inaugural White House Luau for local boy President Barack Obama.
