As one of Hawaii’s favorite “Uncles” and most engaging entertainers, Willie K.’s music draws inspiration from a plethora of musical backgrounds including Hawaiian, Jazz, and early R&B. He has won multiple Na Hoku Hanohano awards for his solo albums as well as for his albums with local diva Amy Gilliom and a separate one for his album with the group Barefoot Natives. In 2004, he and Amy were nominated for a Grammy award for their album titled, "Amy and Willie Live". Willie has performed with and/or opened for such musical hits as B.B. King, Santana, Al DiMeola, Willie Nelson, Prince, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Elvin Bishop, Bonnie Rait, Jackson Browne, Mick Fleetwood, George Benson and Jimmy Buffett. As traveled and experienced as Uncle Wille K. is, he and his music always stay true to his local Hawaii roots.
