Joshua Roman has performed here many times, and it’s always a hit. Dubbed a “Classical Rock Star” by the press, cellist Joshua Roman has earned a national reputation for performing a wide range of repertoire with an absolute commitment to communicating the essence of the music at its most organic level. Before embarking on a solo career, he was for two seasons principal cellist of the Seattle Symphony, a position he won in 2006 at the age of 22.

“Just a few seasons old, this young, vibrant group has made a Kronos-like commitment to a 20th century music all over the artistic map – from serialism, evocations of folk and pop music from around the world, American classics and European neo-romanticism, “ wrote music critic Gavin Borchert in the Seattle Weekly. Thus the mission of the acclaimed odeonquartet was noticed early on. Formed in 1999, odeonquartet (their preferred spelling) is comprised of distinguished artists who are dedicated to presenting concerts of the highest artistic quality and building new audiences for chamber music through performances and educational outreach programs.

Good For The Jews

Genre: Comedy

  1. Thursday, December 02 7:30 PM (All ages)

Rob Tannenbaum was described as “snarky” by the Village Voice, “snarky” by New York Magazine and “diminutive” by the Boston Globe. His song “It’s Good To Be A Jew At Christmas” appeared on the 2005 Shout Factory CD Now That Sounds Kosher, alongside songs by Mel Brooks, Tom Lehrer, and Kinky Friedman. He earned his first theatrical credit for helping John Leguizamo write “Sexaholix,” a Tony-nominated Broadway comedy; was interviewed by Terry Gross of NPR for a “Fresh Air” segment; has performed at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal; and was named one of “New York’s Best Emerging Jewish Artists” at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in 2006. The music editor of Blender magazine and a member of the Jewish-owned media elite, he appears frequently on VH1, and created and starred in the VH1 special “So Jewtastic.” Like a pork chop, he’s bad to the bone.

David Fagin, mouthpiece for indie pop icons The Rosenbergs, is currently on tour with Tannenbaum “because Staples isn’t hiring right now.” David has been a guest on the Dennis Miller and Howard Stern shows, and finally made his parents proud when he lectured on the business of music at Harvard Law School. His songs have been heard on Dawson’s Creek, Party Of Five, One Tree Hill and Queer Eye, among other TV shows. AllMusic.com hailed the Rosenbergs for “a clever, incessantly buoyant pop sound that could compare to the brightest days of Cheap Trick.” David hopes to one day open a hair salon in Boca called “Bagels and Locks.”

A dear friend’s 80 year old mother sums it up best.... " I never thought I would live to see Billie Holiday perform live!"

Legendary underground entertainer-turned international cabaret sensation Joey Arias returns to Seattle’s historic Triple Door theatre once again, for an evening of signature song and banter, accompanied by his longtime pianist and creative co-conspirator, Eliot Douglass. Fresh from a five-year run as emcee/”Mistress of Seduction” for Zumanity: the Sultry Side of Cirque de Soleil, a role created expressly for him, Arias is the 2009 recipient of GLAAD’s “Off Off Broadway” Award for Arias With a Twist, an intimate “cabinet of curiosities” melding Arias’ legendary voice with puppeteer Basil Twist’s lavish, ecstatic visual creations.

A two-time “Critic’s Choice” and “Pick of the Week” (Los Angeles Times), Seattle Gay News writer Sara Michelle Fetters said this of his last Triple Door performance:  “To say he left victorious would be something of an understatement… the only thing strange about this particular fruit is just how darn brilliant he really is.” -SGN, April 9 ’08

He has been featured at such diverse spaces as NYC’s hallowed Carnegie Hall and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has collaborated with countless influential artists, including David Bowie and the late Klaus Nomi.

Suzanne Westenhoeffer

Genre: Comedy

  1. Friday, January 14 7:30 PM (17+)
  2. Friday, January 14 10:15 PM (21+)

What words best describe Comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer? How about bold, bawdy, and just plain hilarious? Not afraid to ask tough questions that uncover the laughs underneath, Suzanne’s made a career out of telling the truth. And the truth is, life is funny.

And now, Suzanne takes it to the road one more time with her upcoming tour, most appropriately named, “Totally Inappropriate.” This new show will continue Suzanne’s tradition of working mostly unscripted, so when she hits the stage it’s an unpredictable, original night of comedy magic. Every night on the tour will feature new material inspired by her experiences in that city, some of which are created on the spot. “The audience and I participate in the creation of each night’s show,” she says, an interactive approach that makes her shows unique in the world of live comedy.

While she says she can’t promise dancing girls or magic tricks on her new tour, she does guarantee an hour and a half of “the same brilliant stand up comedy that I’ve been pumping out for 19 years.” And, she adds, “Each show on the tour will have its own version of inappropriateness, so you’ll need to come to a show and find out for yourself.”
